She Giveth

Before we were, we were nothing.

Just an idea, a spark of consciousness, in the mind of the Creator.

But who, to value and love the beauty of Creation?
Who will tend the garden forever more?

Nature, the beauty that she is, having seen us as a reflection and expression of the infinite,

Wrapped herself around us and gave us eyes to see,
ears to hear,
and the awareness to experience
the beauty that is the Universe.

She, being the womb of all that is,
created for us a vehicle
to navigate around this Earth.

She, being the Earth,
the Moon, and all that can be touched, seen, heard, smelled, and tasted,

The Divine Mother, the womb,
the protector, the provider,
providing us with all we need, on one condition:

"Give more than you receive."
"Give more than you take."
"Give more than you consume."

You can't go to a wood stove and say,
"You give me heat, and I'll give you wood."

But some of us would.

We dare to test her might,
We dare to explore the darkness of night,
We dare to smite
the wife, the Goddess,
the companion of the Almighty.

But she who giveth can taketh away!

She, the manifestation,
She, the five elements,
She, everything we can touch, taste, smell, hear, and see,
and even that which we can't.

We cut her trees,
we rape her soil,
murdering her birds and her bees,
taking what we wish
and giving little in return.

I feel her pain I feel her yearn
for balance,
for harmony,
for justice.

Take this as a forewarning!

Mama's coming home,
and she's coming to stay.

She who giveth
can taketh away.
